SAP HCM Project Manager

Datacreatives Technologies Inc., a technology consulting company is currently seeking a strong SAP HCM Project Manager to work as a consultant with one of our clients in downtown Seattle.

Contract Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)
Rate: Negotiable based on experience

 

Scope and Duration of Work

As a skilled and experienced SAP Senior Project Manager the consultant will manage a complex and diverse project through to closing by following established project management processes. The consultant will lead the project through analyses, design, development, testing, implementation, stabilization and Post-Implementation; while effectively communicating project objectives, requirements, expectations, concepts, issues and progress to the team, senior management and stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

Update Business Cases and Scope Documents;
Develop, update and manage detailed project plan (including design, development, testing, conversion, integration, cutover/go-live and Post-implementation support);
Manage an overall project implementation strategy, utilizing Accelerated SAP (ASAP) methodology and Internal project methodology;
Manage the overall SAP HCM implementation and roll-out to unionized complex environment population of 6,000 employees;
Develop detailed staffing requirements for project including consultant and client resources; and manage resource loaded project schedule;
Deliver all management level client facing communication (verbal and written) including presentations and status reporting material to Executive Sponsors and Steering Committee;
Facilitated sessions with Executive and Management Stakeholders to identify and manage project issues and determination of risk tolerance;
Develop formal kick-off meeting presentations;
Develop focused agendas and facilitating all Project Team Lead / All-Hands Meetings;
Create, update and manage budget and cost management;
Develop Change Control Process to be followed during project.

 

Typical qualifications to perform these services include:

Minimum of two completed life cycle experiences, project managing SAP HCM implementations in a large corporate unionized environment with strong knowledge of SAP technology and project methodology leading a multi member project team;
Experience managing significant Business Process Redesign project within the SAP HCM framework. Scope of transformation goes beyond the standard system processes to include front end processes and governance (ie. position control - what is the process to request and approval);
7+ years of senior project management experience with experience/ knowledge with SAP HCM system, application and data architecture (knowledge of PeopleSoft would be an asset);
Ability to balance budget and schedule, scope control, risk management, and change management and communicate at all levels of the organization including Senior Executive;
Ability to provide leadership and decision-making while being accountable for the planning and execution of key project deliverables and ensuring coordination and integration of project deliverables and timelines;
Experience with HCM projects that require significant Organizational Change (i.e. from a high touch environment to maximized Self Service);
Excellent analytical, planning, and project management skills with demonstrated expertise in all phases of projects, including requirements definition, detailed design and planning, effective implementation practices, integration, acceptance testing and closeout with the customer;
Strong communication and facilitation skills with all levels of resources (Executive level to individual contributors)
